About the client

Founded in 1918, Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) is one of the oldest voluntary organizations in Canada. Each year, they support more than 1.3 million Canadians through the combined efforts of more than 11,000 volunteers and staff across Canada in over 330 communities.

As the nationwide leader and champion for mental health, CMHA facilitates access to the resources people require to maintain and improve mental health and community integration, build resilience, and support recovery from mental illness.

CMHA branches across Canada provide a wide range of innovative services and supports to people who are experiencing mental illness and their families. These services are tailored to the needs and resources of the communities where they are based. One of the core goals of these services is to help people with mental illness develop the personal tools to lead meaningful and productive lives.

We are proud to have collaborated with CMHA - an organization that is focused on consistently doing meaningful and great work.

Objective

CMHA turned 100 this year and they approached us to create merchandise that will be used to raise awareness and funds for CMHA. The merchandise is meant for an online store that is open to the public.

Top considerations:

Simple Aesthetic but High Quality Items
No dark coloursThe client requested that we stay away from dark coloured merchandise and to suggest products that have lighter colours.
On brand items that will be used for fundraising and awareness but also be given to volunteers - to create a culture of inclusion.

We suggested and created items that are meant to relieve stress, such as custom colouring books and brain shaped stress toys.

CMHA also supports third party fundraising events such as golf tournaments, therefore a few items are specifically catered to that - namely the shirts and hats. All of the merchandise can be used in everyday life, thus serving as constant reminders to think and support mental health wellness.
